Weld seam testing on the ferritic structure of a ship
The BAL 73-1 weld seam probe is a cross-wound aircored coil in a bridge circuit. It was developed for the manual testing of weld seams with rough surface structures and below lacquer coats. The arrangement of the cross coils achieves a good suppression of interference signals from the often rough seams and minimizes the „lift-off“ effect. The probe functions within the medium frequency range from 100 kHz to 1 MHz. Pores, cracks and incomplete fusions that are open to the testing side can be found even under thick coats of lacquer.
Please note:
A bridge probe cable is required to operate the ELOTEST M3. The „Probe Input“ must be set to „Univ. Bridge“.
